NIC GREENE

I am an award-winning key art finisher and creative retoucher for print and digital, primarily serving the Entertainment and Advertising Industries in the US and Internationally.

 

I started off painting, with a magnifying glass and tiny brushes, making photo-composites in gouache. I had gained an enormous appreciation of fine art and art history but had no fire to be a professional artist. Entering into commercial art, I worked as I learned, and apprenticed under some very talented retouchers and finishers, and have honed my technical chops through many many hundreds of jobs.

I am a specialized retoucher, and for the most part I finish work that already exists. I value the work I am entrusted to finish. Each piece has its unique qualities to enhance and finesse, so I strive to adapt to different brands, creatives and workflows to ensure that their vision is realized. In other words I feel it’s my responsibility to get your project done on or ahead of deadline, to pivot when needed and above all to bring out the very best in the work - as asked.

I can build a finish from the ground up or finesse an existing build. Given that my work starts when an agency or designer has gotten approval, or sign off, I don’t see it's my job to offer an appraisal of the work, I get it done.

When I feel I could help improve an asset I’ll certainly bring it up but I never expect to change what you’ve provided unless you feel it could positively add to the mix. If you want creative input please ask. I want to make your creative work effective wherever it’s going.
